Cheryl, "Sugar Foot" President / Chief Executive Officer of Good Deeds International (GDI), LLC, says – "Best of both worlds" in her eyes--she grew up in Chicago, Illinois, which will always be “Home,” but she now resides in Atlanta, Georgia, which is “Home” too. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to GDI. A renowned figurehead in the steppin' community for over 18 years, "Sugar Foot" has earned her rights in the industry.
She was one of the original members of “Steppin’ Out,” cofounder of True Passion Steppers, and one of the Lead Instructors of the notable Sistas In Sync. She is inarguably a strong steppin’ contender as either a winner or placing in Chicago’s World’s Largest Steppin’ Contests as well as other noteworthy contests in Chicago and Atlanta. Teaching this dance is a passion for "Sugar Foot" and she nurtures this passion by flying all over the country to share her teachings to many. Cheryl graduated from Simeon Vocational High School in Chicago, Illinois. She then matriculated to Grambling State University (HBCU) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing, along with a Degree in Information Systems. Shortly after leaving GSU, (home of the greatest football coach in collegiate history, the legendary Eddie Robinson), Cheryl accepted the position of Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines. This is what brought her to Atlanta, where she has been working and living for more than 25 years. "Sugar Foot" is married to Devan "Iceman" Powe and they have three intelligent and beautiful girls, Maya, Skylar and DeVanni. Amongst her many social and community based organizations, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Cheryl loves music and will always be completely devoted to the "Dusties". Her motto for life is to "treat others how you want to be treated and always tell those you love, how much they are loved today--tomorrow may never come."
