Commemoration of Black History Month

The “Heritage Ball”

As a culmination of all our Good Deeds throughout the year, we come together in February in Commemoration of Black History Month.

  • The “Heritage Ball” is fastly becoming one of the nation’s stellar and highly anticipated annual steppers’ weekend event and is an eloquent “All Black Attire” beautifully themed “Celebrating Our Heritage – In Commemoration of Black History Month.”
  • It is a 4-day weekend affair consisting of a “Steppers’ Prelude” for early arrivals at the legendary Ellery’s, a warm welcome at the Host Hotel and/or convention center, which includes a hosted Champagne Hospitality Suite experience, a shuttle tour of beautiful Atlanta, which in the past has consisted of the King Center for Nonviolent Change, the World of Coca Cola, the Atlanta University Center, Georgia Aquarium and an early evening dining outing at “Big Daddy’s Dish,” the home of Southern Style Cooking.
  • An Award and Recognition Ceremony of community minded organizations, such as Mr. Cedric Johnson, Founder of Atlanta's “The Scholar Keeper, Incorporated” and Ms. Monique Salter of Chicago, Illinois, Founder of “The Step & Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.”
  • We also host an early morning Breakfast Rendezvous directly after the famous Friday night “Meet & Greet.”
  • The Main Event is held at the state-of-the-art Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), conveniently located minutes from the world renown Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
  • Host hotel accommodations are also a stone’s throw away from the Atlanta Airport.
  • Attendance of the Main Event continues to increase significantly as it rose from 300 plus persons for a single night affair in February 2008 to well over 1200 people for a four-night extravaganza in February 2009.
  • We have enjoyed star-studded appearances in the past by such guests like national publication Sister-2-Sister Magazine’s CEO, Jamie Foster Brown and the celebrity mothers of T-Pain and Ne-Yo.
